Sand Dunes

One of our favorite things to do was to go to the Sand Dunes. There was a store that always had old, broken pallets behind it that we were free to take, so we would get in Sheri’s boat of a car and throw some pallets in the trunk, and head out to the dunes for a bonfire. There were so many nights of fun! We played in the sand, we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores, we sang along with April’s guitar, we talked and told stories, and just really, really enjoyed those dunes. And we always came home with sand in our pockets, and in our ears, and everywhere else. It was way worse than any beach trip, as far as sand goes.

Here I am, buried, along with my room mate Bea.

My favorite dune picture of all time! April and her brother Leonard on a huge jump!

This one is probably tied for my favorite. April and Me!

After landing.

Here's me getting sand in my teeth!

Me, April and Leonard with an awesome fire going.

Bad picture, but this is a group of us on a different trip, at dusk, getting ready to sit around the fire.

I love this picture of April!
