Let Them Eat Cake

We had this thing in 137 up. We didn’t really mean it to be a thing, but looking back on it, it’s fun to realize it was a thing. Whenever anyone had a birthday, we made a cake. Roommate, FHE brother, whoever. We made a cake in a 13x9 pan, and we frosted and decorated it right there in the pan. And when it was time, we would all sit around the table, sing Happy Birthday, light the candles, and when they were blown out, we passed around the forks and all dug right in to the pan. There were no plates—we didn’t even bother cutting it. We just all dug in and ate together.  And it was fun.

Another cake for Alex's birthday!

Here is my room mate Melissa with a cake. Apparently she got hers out of the pan, but it looks like people dug into it before she even blew out the candles. LOL

Looks like we shared the pudding bowl, too!
